Key Responsibilities
Develop design document, test and deploy ETL/ELT processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Monitor data processing efficiency and propose solutions for improvements.
Identify and investigate potential data quality issues and explore ways to improve data quality and reliability
Support in designing and rolling out the data architecture and infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
Skills and Attributes for Success
Bachelor’s and/or master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or another relevant subject
2+ years of experience in data engineering / building data pipelines through ETL/ELT processes
Experience with data modelling, design patterns and building highly scalable and secured data solutions and infrastructures.
Knowledge of data warehouses, data marts and general data model techniques (Fact and dimensional tables, Slowly Changing Dimensions)
Familiar with big data platforms, preferably Snowflake (or Databricks, Hadoop, Spark)
Experience with ETL tools, preferably Matillion (or SSIS)
Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases such as MS SQL, DB2, Oracle, MySQL
Ability to work with a wide variety of data types (i.e. structured and unstructured), extracting and integrating data from modern and legacy data platforms
Experience in cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform)
You have effective communication and presentation skills
It will be a plus if you have
Strong business understanding of the financial sector (Banking, Insurance)
You are proud to share relevant experience in coaching a team of Junior Data Engineers
You have experience with lean/agile software development
