We are looking for an experienced
Senior / Principal Traffic Engineerto complement our growing team in Scotland. You will ideally have experience in active travel and urban street design with detailed knowledge of the appropriate design guidance and standards, such as Cycling by Design and DMRB. You will also preferably have experience in design stage feasibility and undertaking concept and detailed design.
This role will allow you to pursue relevant business and technical training to support your career development as well as the freedom to grow your network and develop innovative solutions to chase new opportunities.
- This role can be based on a Hybrid basis from either our Glasgow or Edinburgh offices
- Full time employment with Jacobs is @ 40 hours per week
- To be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
- Have achieved or be working towards a relevant professional accreditation e.g. CEng or CTPP
- Extensive experience in the Traffic Engineering field with the ability to contribute to the success of a range of high profile transport projects, particularly in anurban environme nt and with experience in cycle priority and traffic signa l design desirable
- Experience in applying design standards, that may include the Designing Streets , Design Manual for Roads and Bridges , Cycling by Design or Local Authority Street Design guidance
- Technical aptitude and experience in design and modelling software packages particularly AutoCad and LinSig
- To be able to competently liaise and communicate with clients
- To be able to manage tasks using appropriate program, budget and quality controls
