DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

This position will report to the. The Privacy Intern will be a part of Sony’s Global Privacy Section, led by the Global Head of Privacy. The Global Privacy Sectionis responsible forand maintaining an enterprise vision, strategy and program to secure Sony’s information assets, services, and the products that depend on them, thus, building trust with customers and stakeholders, and protecting the privacy of Sony’s customers and employees.

a highly motivated law student (preferably a current 2L) with a passion for privacy to support Global Information Systems and Communications (GISC) across a range of complex cross-Sony group projects. The selected intern will work with subject matter experts on Sony’s global privacy team on a variety of projects, such asIT and technology toolsemerging trends and practice areas,. The selected intern will also support the Privacy Section to prepare for its annual forum for Sony’s global privacy community.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • benefitingthe privacy, legal and business stakeholder community within the Sony group companies.

  • Assist with the Privacy Section’s annual global privacy forum in June by preparing presentation materials, supportingvirtualattendeesand handling administrative tasks.

  • Support with the preparation and review of legal, regulatory and industry updates and good practice memos for the wider privacy community at Sony.

  • Review and update draft policies, processesand templates, for example,M365 policies,data flow diagrams,orprivacy assessments, etc.

  • Facilitate the Privacy Section’s organization, finalization and distribution of key global privacy resources via its intranet site.

  • Support project leads with drafting key presentation materials and managing,coordinatingand trackingproject activitiesanddeliverables.

  • Attend key project-related and team meetings and workshops.Assistin the preparation of meeting summaries and follow-up actions.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

  • .

  • Currently enrolled in a J.D. program as a 2L.

  • Demonstrable interest in privacy law through courses, trainings, certifications,seminarsorpreviouswork experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint,and Excel.

  • Applicants should include a cover letter and alegal writing sample,such as alegaljournal submission,amemorandumoraninternal or client-facing document.

The target hourly rate for this internship is $23.00 per hour. The individual will be paid hourly and is eligible for overtime.
