Job Summary:

The Global VP of GCX has a strong operational excellence attitude and has a clear goal for developing a world class Global Customer Experience (GCX) function. The business is constantly evolving his leadership team, both operational / regional leadership and support functions to drive a culture of:

  • Developing leadership and partner management capability within GCX, bringing more insight to the function and ensuring it has a closer collaborations parts of the business.
  • Leading innovative and transformation agenda across GCX which will affect all aspects of a customer’s experience of eBay.

The Director of Finance works closely with:

  • VP of GCX and his leadership team
  • Key GCX partners: Service Delivery Market Leads, Ops Planning, Analytics and back office e2M and protections
  • Corporate controllership to supervise compliance with GAAP.
  • The Corporate FP&A team as well as regional Finance teams, providing insight into the Operations financial performance and ensuring that corporate asks are properly driven within the Operations organization.

Job Requirements

Leading outcomes.

  • Partner with Customer and Teammate planning teams, Partner Management, and GCX market leads, and the strategy teams.
  • Guide prioritisation by providing a clear understanding of “ROI” of different investment opportunities
  • Drive analysis of cost trends and drivers, and articulate how they impact overall customer experience.
  • Challenge budget owners based on trend and variance analysis Financial planning and reporting (forecasting, annual budgeting and strategic long-term planning, gap analysis):
  • Lead regular cycles for monthly, quarterly and annual financial processes, inclusive of responsibility for the financial close, journal entries, accurate financial reporting of expenses.
  • Present financial performance to Global GCX Ops and Marketplaces Management
  • Structure and review cases that the finance team creates in cooperation with GCX operations.
  • Ensure appropriate global approval processes are adhered to.
  • Define framework/KPIs for initiative tracking and variance analysis.
  • Post-audit of key initiatives

Compliance

  • Understand accounting policies and accurate financial reporting/forecasting.
  • Understand risk exposure of GCX and advise Mgmt accordingly
  • Liaise with internal specialists (Tax, SOX, Accounting Policy, etc.) as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • Passionate about business and the related performance
  • 10-15+ years of finance experience with exposure to different areas
  • Ability to present and impact decision making at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to perform in a matrix organization with multiple team members and a high degree of complexity and ambiguity
