In the ICU, therapies often require manual adjustments that can be time-consuming and may vary among caregivers. (Semi-) closed loop therapy systems use continuous monitoring and advanced algorithms to automate these adjustments. Our aim is to offer (semi-) closed loop therapy systems that are both adopted and found useful by caregivers.Your role:
Conduct literature reviews to identify adoption barriers and success factors.
Perform user research on selected therapy workflows.
Propose improved workflows exploiting (semi-) closed loop techniques.
Visualize the benefits of the envisioned clinical workflows with (semi-) closed loop systems.
Evaluate the envisioned workflows with clinical experts.
Develop a design framework for (semi-) closed loop systems.
You're the right fit if:
You are studying towards your Bachelor or Master in industrial design, interaction design, medical informatics, or related field.
Experience in user research activities.
Ability to translate research into user and system requirements.
Strong presentation and storyboarding skills.
Enthusiastic, focused, and results-oriented.
Analytical, eager to learn, and able to work independently.
Fluent in English with good writing skills; Dutch is a plus but not required.

Next to that, we are offering a decent internship package:
Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on educational level and if you would need to relocate to The Netherlands. If you will perform a part-time internship you will receive the allowance pro-rata.
Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the land lord, and your normal home-work travel distance need to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) need to be more than 1.5 hours.
Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €192,- net.
Paid holidays per internship term.

Students from outside the EU need to fill in an NUFFIC agreement, which needs to be signed by the student and the university.
