Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Research & Development: Lead and drive new Data Science and ML research projects, designing and implementing algorithms that enhance various product areas.
- Project Management: Collaborate with product teams to set research goals, define project scopes, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Expert Consultation: Act as a subject matter expert in Data Science for the group and broader R&D department.
- Performance Optimization: Oversee the improvement and monitoring of ML models in production, ensuring they meet performance benchmarks.
- Scaling & Evolution: Guide the team in scaling operations, maintaining high-quality research, exploring new areas, and implementing streamlined workflows.
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing and developing Data Science and Machine Learning algorithms, with a proven track record of success.
- Data Expertise: Proficient in working with large datasets and production data, with experience in Big Data and parallel processing (NoSQL data stores experience is a plus).
- Leadership: 2+ years of leadership or management experience in a Data Science role, demonstrating the ability to inspire and guide teams.
- Education: Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Production Experience: Strong background in bringing Data Science research into production or working in production-oriented ML environments is highly advantageous.
- Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with network or cybersecurity concepts is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders.
