Description
The UIKit framework provides a wide range of functionality and is used in every single iPhone and iPad application. It is the basis for a wide range of functionality: application lifecycle, touch and event handling, text editing and layout, animations, views, windows, controls, and higher-level components such as UIGestureRecognizer and UICollectionView.As a software engineer on the UIKit team, your responsibilities will range from designing and implementing new features and interfaces, to organizing and iterating on performance and infrastructure efforts. You should have a strong understanding of object-oriented software design, and an eagerness to tackle tough problems and learn from amazing teammates.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of experience working with Swift and Objective-C
- Experience with UIKit and knowledge of UIKit fundamentals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to facilitate close interaction with development teams, management, project management, and other organizations within Apple
- Strong object-oriented programming and design skills
- Excellent knowledge of source code management concepts and systems (Git)
- Strong engineering and debugging skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Open-minded, strong collaboration skills
- A genuine excitement for solving sophisticated problems
- Understanding of optimization and performance issues across OS software layers
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700 and $300,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
