ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, bill of materials, machine-tool build assembly drawings

  • Fabricate, Machine basic metal components and assemblies as required

  • Fit and assemble parts and sub-assemblies to build special-purpose machinery

  • Integrate pneumatic and hydraulic systems into special-purpose machinery

  • Coordinate with the Electrician, and PLC Programmer to provide for their needs, in a timely manner. Advise designers of any floor assembly design problems, coordinating work if required

  • Ensures that all work and inspections are properly documented

  • Conduct test runs with completed equipment ensure that parts meet specifications; and make adjustments if necessary

  • Ensuring the adherence to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, ISO 9001 all

  • Johnson Electric's policies and any other industry standards in all activities

  • Provide mechanical support during debug, integration, and machine acceptance

  • Reassemble equipment to the point of buy-off at customer's site. Train maintenance and operators on running equipment and following safety procedures

  • Verify conformance of manufactured parts to specifications, using measuring instruments; such as, scales, calipers, micrometers and fixed gauges

  • Attend design reviews as required

  • Assists with Continuous Improvement Projects

  • Recommend design changes to parts with regard to improving manufacturing, assembly and maintenance processes

  • Maintain cleanliness of personal work areas and job zones

  • Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives

  • Perform other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Five years’ experience in automation/machine assembly or millwright experience, preferably with machining skills. Hands on technical skills with respect to Mechanical Assembly

  • Ability to read Blue Prints and use precision instruments (Imperial and Metric)

  • Ability to read and interpret Hydraulic and Pneumatic schematics

  • Experience with rigging/lifting techniques

  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude

  • Must demonstrate patience and consistent attention to detail

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required

  • Fast-working, without sacrificing quality

  • Understands and follows all safety requirements

  • Must be able to occasionally travel and work overtime including weekends as required

  • Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
