Join the dynamic Payments organization at JP Morgan, a leading player in the industry, offering a variety of solutions to global clients. In support of the rapidly evolving payments landscape, the Payments Controls organization is seeking an Associate to join the Global Regulatory Developments and Engagement (GRDE) function to deliver on GRDE specific engagements and execute on regulatory and control activities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Researching, compiling, analyzing and interpreting information and data in various formats to produce clear findings that inform decisions
  • Conduct regulatory research and analyze laws, regulations and developments and communicate to senior leaders
  • Focus on the regulatory environment and provide holistic overview of the landscape to the impacted stakeholders
  • Provide written summaries & detailed write ups on regulatory updates
  • Work with global Control Managers, Legal, Compliance and business managers to ensure regulations are assessed and dispositioned accurately, efficiently, and timely
  • Developing deep understanding of the EMEA regulatory landscape and Payments business
  • Management of workflow queues
  • Engage in other special projects, as needed.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills

  • 4+ years Professional experience in legal, regulatory research in a major law firm, consulting firm, Fintech and/or financial institution
  • Highly motivated individual with knowledge of the EMEA financial services regulatory landscape including key regulators and regulations.
  • Broad Payments product knowledge (e.g., cash management, payment FX, overdrafts, and traditional trade)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable with working and partnering with people at all levels, across all functional areas and internationally. Able to motivate and gain consensus among peers and stakeholders to drive critical initiatives to completion
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail in written documentation.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and planning skills
  • Execution-oriented self-starter who likes to take initiative and is able to deliver in efficient and effective ways
  • Proven work ethic, desire to learn and aptitude for problem solving and analysis
