The position focuses on ESG Governance. We’re seeking an individual with a foundational understanding of process design, risk management, and governance frameworks, particularly related to ESG.


Your key responsibilities

ESG P&C Senior will work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping in ESG governance engagements from strategy to execution. Responsibility for this role includes but are not limited to

  • Support Managers/Senior Manager with the planning, budgeting, and execution of ESG process and control engagements, ensuring successful delivery.
  • Responsible for the design, walkthrough, and implementation of ESG governance frameworks, mapping ESG processes with Risk Control Matrices (RCM), and aligning them with regulatory standards such as CSRD, GRI, and others.
  • Prepare detailed ESG process flowcharts, process narratives, and Risk and Control Matrices in line with ESG governance standards and industry best practices.
  • Supporting gap analyses and control enhancements to strengthen clients' ESG governance.
  • Design attributes and perform testing on the design and operational effectiveness of ESG controls, providing suggestions for process improvements by assessing risks and controls related to ESG topics/metrics/KPIs, identifying gaps, and assisting in remediation.
  • Delivering high-quality work on time, adhering to EY Global Standards for the FAAS team.
  • Assist in the preparation and development of proposals for prospective ESG engagements.
  • Collaborate daily with the onshore engagement team to deliver work to to onshore clients.
  • Stay informed of professional standards and firm policies (e.g., guidelines of the EY FAAS Policy Manual); and effectively apply this knowledge to moderately difficult and/or complex client situations

  • Support and contribute to a range of ESG governance projects at various stages, from assisting with initial client pitches to helping finalize deliverables

  • Strong working experience of Excel, Visio, Word and other MS Office
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary

Professional experience:

Typical experience may include, whilst not limited to:

  • Maintaining a broad understanding of the ESG reporting landscape, including various reporting frameworks and standards and disclosure legislation.
  • Experience of working in a consulting role in ESG industry, focusing on the ESG accounting and disclosures
  • Hands-on consulting experience at a Big 4, or top tier consulting firm or large corporate within non-financial services sector

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA (US) or ACCA (UK), or MBA
  • 3+ years (post qualification) with Big 4 consulting or large corporate in Process Risk and Control Department and/or ESG governance and/or Risk Advisory and/or similar experience

Experience required on the following Process and control areas:

  • Governance, Risk and Compliance
  • Risk Assessment: Conducting risk assessment procedures preferably for ESG domain
  • Process walkthroughs
  • Standard Procedures, Process flows etc
  • Design, and documentation of RACM,
  • Control Design and operating effectiveness testing
  • Evaluation of control deficiencies and remediation plans
  • Should be able to understand complex business situations, risk and controls in ERP environment,
  • Identify gaps and suggest leading practices
