Your Career
Palo Alto Networks NGFW (Next Generation Firewall) group is looking for a seasoned and accomplished test / Automation engineer with experience in validating core networking & security features in the test engineering team. You will be part of a world-class software test engineering team that works on qualifying various ground-breaking security (On-Prem and Cloud) technologies / use cases. You will work with a multi- functional team of engineers solving interesting problems in the area of L2-7 / Cloud security.
Your Impact
- Expected to lead and participate in all phases of the product development cycle, from definition, design, through implementation, test and field deployments
- Responsible for test planning of Palo Alto Networks’ next-generation firewall
- Develop processes, tools and infrastructure to improve the quality and efficiency of testing
- Work closely with the Software Engineering, Product Management teams during product development from design to release
- Reproduce and debug complex issues found during and after software releases
- Interface with field facing teams (TAC, Escalations and SEs) to improve customer experience
Your Experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience with a BS OR MS degree in Network and Security domain with Test Engineering experience in platforms, infrastructure and systems area or equivalent military experience required
- Exposure to Cloud Technologies (AWS,GCP,Azure or any other cloud)
- Career level experience in Test Engineering position
- Experience qualifying network security products and solutions, preferably with firewalls and intrusion prevention
- Strong Python (or other similar) Scripting and/or automation
- Driving quality initiatives
- Knowledge of encryption and tunneling protocol test methods
- L3 network testing experience with knowledge of most common switching and routing protocols - Knowledge of L4-L7 network layers
- Experience in networking equipment (routers and switches) and usage of test tools (ixia/spirent etc)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with open source test and Network traffic generating tools and good to have experience with typical test tools from Spirent, Breaking Point, and Ixia
- Experience setting testbeds in a Virtualization environment is desirable
