Product Marketing is a global role, founded on solution area subject matter expertise, that holds key accountabilities in four broad areas:
- Partnering closely with Research & Development teams to align technology innovation to the greatest customer need and market opportunity to maximize value for SAP and our customers.
- Owning all aspects of the product value proposition lifecycle from product release readiness gate, announcement & on-going product communications, and digital customer journey, demonstrating deep customer, competitor & market understanding at each step.
- Defining the global marketing plan and then delivering this plan through and with the Marketing & Solution discipline expert teams, ultimately ensuring that customers, partners, analysts, and press across the world understand, believe, and desire the value of SAP solutions.
- Owning the global SAP sales and partner sales enablement content to ensure our direct and channel sales teams can hit their targets.
The Product Marketing functions require deep subject matter expertise (SME) of their product/solution area and the ability to represent this depth to stakeholders inside and outside the company.
What you will do:
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the product area by developing and applying a deep understanding of the integrated travel and expense product area total addressable market (TAM) for public services and be always aware of the latest market information. Represent the product area value & vision to customers, partners, and analysts.
- Contribute to the Market Opportunity Map for your product area and the creation of the Winning Plan, working in close partnership with Product Engineering and Customer Success teams. Identify and connect innovations built across multiple product teams and influence the Build/Buy/Partner strategy to maximize SAP’s growth.
- Consult on and inform the product / feature release announcement process, and communications for your integrated travel and expense for public services including value positioning and messaging framework, branding and public roadmap and website updates. Determine under-performing product offerings that should be sunset and partner with the Product Engineering and Customer Success board area to exit products.
- Collaborate in defining the packaging, pricing, and licensing plans for your travel and expense services Contribute to the creation of product packages that span across or seed into multiple product/solution areas. Define and drive customer and partner incentives.
- Define the annual marketing plan for public services and determine the marketing mix and tactics. Serve as the business owner for Tier 1 SAP events and 3rd party Industry events.
- Ensure excellence in the customer journey content, programs, and resources for integrated travel and expense. Collaborate with Marketing & Solutions discipline teams to ensure quality, consistency, and completeness of content, define new programs and resources to maximize customer engagement and ensure the availability of hero customer stories. Contribute to planning Integrated Demand Programs (IDPs) and monitor Demand Generation KPIs to adjust.
- Own product communications to all external audiences and serve as a leading spokesperson for engagement with analyst, press, customer, partners, and community groups
- Lead collaboration across marketing to define and deliver sales enablement content for your product area.
What you will bring:

- Minimum 6-8 years of experience related to the (industry) solution domain
- Supporting organizational change
- Guiding and mentoring peers and/or junior level colleagues
- English: fluent on business level - verbal and written.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
