RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure proper and efficient discharge of the Company’s responsibilities for plant construction, adherence to Company’s policies and requirements.
To ensure staff recruitment, development and departmental administration and line personnel management.
To carryout work relating to construction aspects of sub-contracts, planning, estimating and safety at construction sites are being done as per procedure.
Ensure that work carried out by the department is professional and adequate in all respects, particularly in relation to safety, quality assurance and adherence to Company’s contractual responsibilities and compliance with statutory and legal requirements.
Decide on the assignment of Site staff for services group activities including staff forward loading and recruitment.
Determine staff training needs with improved staff training in view and discuss and arrange such training needs with the HR Manager.
Review current and future staffing needs and make recommendations regarding staff recruitments. Ensure required sub-contracting to qualified and experienced Organizations
Prepare Manhour and cost estimates for proposals and liaise with the Proposals and Estimating groups on all matters involving construction estimates for Management.
Arrange critical Construction planning inputs for various Projects.
Prepare Budgets for Field Services Group needs.
Consult and liaise with the Legal Department and liaise with all other Departments on Construction related matters as necessary.
Ensures that all personnel are aware of the latest issue of the Department’s Work instructions, procedures, specifications and methods.
Liaise with the Proposals, Project Management and Project services groups in the preparation of Construction programs for Proposals and Contracts and assist as required with the relevant planning inputs of the kay dates, manning, sub-contractors and other prescribed parameters.
Work closely with Sales and Operations Group and ensure that recommendation for the application of construction expertise are fully considered, particularly during the early phases of proposal and contract award.
Represent the Company in appropriate construction industry associations, as required.
Ensure compliance of safety requirement at Project sites
Establish procedure and systems for effective handling and monitoring safety systems / records.
Carryout department administration functions.
Attend Management Meetings on significant manners.
Graduate in Engineering in Mechanical or Civil
Experience – 18 to 25 years in a leading position including working in PMC /EPCM role. Candidates from Consultancy background would be preferred . Alternatively experience with large EPC. Must be very good in written and verbal communication with leadership skill
