What to Expect As an Electrical Construction Project Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and executing construction projects from start to finish. You will work closely with your project team, design team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and according to specifications. Your technical expertise, organizational skills, and ability to effectively communicate will be key in coordinating and facilitating various aspects of the construction process.
What You’ll Do - Manage the project buy-out process, including bid packages, RFPs, contracts, Scopes of Work, and Work Orders
- Oversee electrical components of vehicle manufacturing facilities construction, ensuring adherence to specifications, timelines, and budgets
- Collaborate with superintendents to define project objectives, deliverables, and timelines
- Work with design teams to review plans, resolve design clashes, and ensure project alignment
- Maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and progress reports
- Ensure electrical systems comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices
- Oversee commissioning, system testing, outages, troubleshooting, and final system handover
What You’ll Bring - Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience managing construction projects in large industrial or manufacturing environments
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, installation, and commissioning in mission-critical environments
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Asana, MS Project, P6) and tools like Excel and AutoCAD
- OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E certifications preferred
- Knowledge of electrical codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA) and best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of overcoming challenges on complex projects
