What to ExpectAs a Tool Install Construction Project Manager, you will be playing a critical role in new factory buildout, upgrading capacity, maintaining operations, and optimizing systems for the most exciting company in the world. You will manage general contractors and subcontractors of various trades to install new manufacturing lines and collaborate cross-functionally with construction engineering, design, facilities, commissioning, and manufacturing as the facility transitions to production operations. From both the field and office, you will be responsible for maintaining budgets and schedules.
What You’ll Do- Takes ownership of assigned projects, ensuring long-term customer satisfaction, opportunities, and cost savings for Tesla
- Evaluates bidding, material buyouts, and negotiating opportunities for potential and assigned projects
- Maintains effective communication with Tesla personnel, including QC, QA, CX, and Facilities
- Completes project startup procedures, including but not limited to: Making projections, budgeting, and performing job cost entry for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts.
- Prepares major purchase orders while following appropriate pricing and scope evaluations.
- Reviews project plans, P&ID’s, single-line diagrams, and loop diagrams to account for all material and hardware
- Manages projects according to Tesla specifications, procedures, and policies
What You’ll Bring- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective reasoning and judgment skills
- Proficiency with or ability to learn how to use Primavera, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Suite, accounting software, estimating software, and other required systems and software
- Ability to read and interpret all contract documents, plans, specifications, and requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and capitalize on project opportunities
- Knowledge of trade terms, materials, methods, codes, contract and specification language, bidding methods, National Electric Code, electrical engineering fundamentals, purchasing processes, and accounting concepts
