Based in Spokane, WA, but consistent with our home/work office locations, you will have the chance to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects and utilize your highway/roadway design expertise to work on transportation related projects. You’ll work with the best Engineers and Project Managers in the business, as well as gain experience working directly with our clients. You will solve a range of straightforward problems; analyze possible solutions using standards procedures. You will receive a moderate level of guidance and direction performing a range of mainly straightforward assignments. We want you to be empowered to deliver the boldest solutions for everyday living. As a member of our transportation team, you’ll have the chance to work on a challenging project where we’ll depend on your expertise, intuition, and leadership with planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of projects. You’ll be considered a key member of our team and be tasked with developing the civil design for transportation (highway/roadway/rail) related projects using local (State, County or City) or AASHTO standards at both conceptual and final design levels.
Using your experience, you’ll also do the following:
- Prepare roadway and highway designs using cad and modeling software.
- Develop plans, prepare technical specifications, develop quantities and estimates, complete peer reviews, and compile design documentation.
- Coordinate with design discipline leads.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Transportation Focus)
- At least 5 years of previous professional engineering roadway design and geometrics experience.
- Proficient with Microstation/Inroads and/or AutoCAD/Civil3D - Previous Department of Transportation (DOT), County or Municipal experience
- Engineer in Training (EIT)
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Experience developing and modeling 3D design surfaces is preferred
- Ability to coordinate all phases of a project is very desirable
- Experience with roadway design, drainage design, estimating, specification writing, and developing other roadways components incorporated into a set of construction plans
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of federal and state design guidelines and design procedures
