What You Will Do:

• Design and maintain reusable components and patterns that form the foundation of Uber’s design system.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure seamless implementation of designs across platforms.
• Document and communicate design decisions, creating guidelines and best practices for system adoption.
• Ensure the highest standards of usability, accessibility, and technical precision in all design work.
• Continuously evolve and refine the design system to meet the needs of a global, multi-platform audience.
• Partner with teams across Uber to identify opportunities for system improvements and innovations.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in UI or systems design with a focus on creating scalable libraries.
• Proficiency in Figma and a solid understanding of component-based design principles.
• Expertise in creating detailed design documentation and component specifications.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, especially engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with design tokens and contributing to multi-platform libraries.
• Design for accessibility
• Strong problem-solving skills and a user-centered design approach.
• Familiarity with motion design, micro-interactions, or advanced prototyping is a bonus.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$146,000 per year - USD$162,000 per year.
