What you’ll do

In this role, you will be the regional representative of a global team supporting Infrastructure Planning’s strategic platform capacity availability. You will be helping to plan for Citi’s strategic platforms including VMware/ESX, OpenShift, Oracle, MSSQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Software Defined Storage (SDS) platforms for block, file and object storage, as well as Rubrik, Big Data and High Compute GRID. You will need some proficiency in SQL to query and extract data about the server estate and to observe and make informed recommendations about platform availability on current (non-EOVS) hardware and to influence consolidation opportunities to exit EOVS HW. In this role you will work with TI partners in program and project management, datacenter teams, build teams, engineering, HW vendors and Citi integration partners.

• Monitor regional capacity availability.
• Review EOVS populations and plan required infrastructure to remediate.
• Work with business partners to identify available capacity to satisfy business requirements.
• Partner with TI project management and operations teams to help drive rack level consolidations.
• Investigate demand for new platforms
• Initiate and drive capacity purchases

What we’ll need from you

The ideal candidate is a seasoned IT Solutions professional with experience in architecting, implementing, and maintaining enterprise scale private and/or public cloud systems. This individual must have broad technical experience and abilities including systems/network administrator experience, data center infrastructure understanding and familiarity with application development. Candidates should have solid business analytical and deductive reasoning skills.

• Ability to analyze the financial aspects of technology.
• Ability to make well defined technical decisions about deployment strategy based on data analysis. Analytics should drive decision making.
• Understanding of VMware/ESX
• Experience with DB technologies including Oracle, MSSQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with storage technologies for block, file, and object storage
• Familiarity with server HW offerings from HPe and Dell
• Experience with MS SQL is recommended for data analytics.
• Experience with ServiceNow a plus.
