What a typical day looks like:
- You will design and develop automated test systems for PCBAs and finished products (medical devices), ensuring compliance with Customer specifications and industry standards. ATEs are developed to perform various types of tests, including electronic, mechanical, and leak tests;
- Design, implement, and optimize hardware for automated test stations, ensuring robust hardware architecture that meets testing requirements. Conduct component selection and integration for test stations, including selection of measurement instruments, fixtures, and interconnects;
- Utilize TestStand for test application development and LabVIEW for creating custom libraries;
- Diagnose and troubleshoot test failures across both software and hardware aspects, providing solutions to ensure optimal system performance.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage for both PCBAs and finished products, validating that all specifications and requirements are met;
- Analyze existing test processes and recommend enhancements for increased efficiency, reliability, and throughput;
- Collaborate closely with design engineers, production teams, and quality assurance to assure products can be tested effectively (Design For Testability), manufacturing requirements are met and adherence to internal procedures is respected;
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of station's requirements, hardware setups, specifications, and any design changes for traceability and compliance purposes;
- Participate in project planning and manage timelines and deliverables related to ATE hardware design and development, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related fiel;
- Experience: Proven experience in testing electronics, specifically with ATE systems, TestStand, and LabVIEW;
- Language Proficiency: Strong knowledge of the English language, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective communication with team members and stakeholders;
- Development of test automation and equipment automation using TestStand;
- Knowledge of LabVIEW for designing libraries and custom applications;
- Experience in hardware design for automated test stations, including instrument integration;
- Understanding of ATE design and development principles, including hardware integration and calibration processes;
- Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques for both software and hardware;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying root causes of test failures;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear and effective information exchange among team members and stakeholders;
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities, demonstrating flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
