Your responsibilities will include:

  • Build and lead the Digital UX Design team by coaching, developing, and mentoring team members, providing direction to ensure high-quality work and timely project delivery.
  • Deliver and inspire award-winning work from the team, influencing change through ideas and creativity.
  • Identify and recommend modern UX trends, technologies, and tools to improve the UX design process and outcomes.
  • Partner across the enterprise with business units, regions, and brand teams to deliver customer-centric, differentiated experiences.
  • Review and provide feedback on UX design deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards, including adherence to accessibility guidelines, and serve business needs to improve customer satisfaction and task accomplishment for employee- and customer-facing channels.
  • Lead, support, and evaluate the strategy for Boston Scientific’s design system to ensure consistent UX across customer-facing digital channels.
  • Work closely with strategic vendors and internal teams to ensure delivery of consistent and cohesive digital experiences.
  • Advocate for best UX practices and principles within the organization, educating and influencing stakeholders.
  • Help source vendors and manage relationships, as needed, to support business goals.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in modern user experience design, user research, and content design processes and practices, enabling strong cross-functional collaboration and fostering an inclusive, engaged culture of multidisciplinary critique.
  • Demonstrated understanding of web and mobile design guidelines, accessibility standards, responsive design principles, and UX research methodologies.
  • Familiarity with creating wireframes, prototypes, and interactive mockups using tools such as Figma or similar software.
  • Experience in formally managing design teams, preferably in a complex or matrixed organization.
  • Working understanding of design capacity planning and resourcing, preferably in life sciences.

Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong influencing skills to help shape solutions and approaches among product teams to drive change and increase effectiveness.
  • Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
