The ideal individual for this role will be comfortable with the Linux Kernel and understand how to develop in languages such as C and Python in a Linux environment. Experience with Linux package management, version control systems, automated build processes, and software unit testing are a must. Knowledge in Linux kernel internals is beneficial for this role. An understanding of and experience in contributing to open source projects is a plus, as many of the activities include an upstream component.Key job responsibilities
- Development and maintain automation to help deliver secure, stable, and performant Linux kernel builds
- Diagnose Linux Kernel issues and deliver suitable mitigations
- Review code from peers and provide feedbackSeattle, WA, USA
- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience building services using AWS products
- Previous work on Linux distributions, Linux Kernels, containers, deployment systems
