Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex projects that address regulatory challenges and improve compliance processes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve regulatory issues and implement best practices.
  • Analyze current business trends to inform regulatory strategies and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement processes that enhance the organizations regulatory compliance efforts.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members in regulatory relations best practices.

Expected Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Non-Financial Data Management & Validation

  • Verify ESG data collection and validation processes, and oversee assurance of ESG metrics, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and auditability.
  • Administer ESG information platforms and data sources, ensuring strong governance.
  • Drive alignment of ESG disclosures with the financial reporting cycle.

Controls, Risk, and Assurance

  • Lead risk assessments and design robust internal controls for ESG reporting.
  • Partner with Internal Audit (SOX) and external auditors to manage assurance processes over ESG data.
  • Own and implement the ESG Metrics Policy and procedures, ensuring global and consistent application. Contribute to maintenance and enhancement of the body of ESG-related policies, procedures, guidelines, and other process documentation.
  • Oversee change management related to ESG reporting and data processes, ensuring that reporting impact as result of new regulatory requirements, new products, new licenses, system enhancements, and internal process updates are effectively implemented, communicated, and adopted across the organization

Regulatory Reporting & Compliance

  • Monitor regulatory developments, perform impact assessments, and update internal policies accordingly.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on ESG disclosure frameworks and regulatory requirements partnering with entity legal and risk teams.
  • Drive process improvements to strengthen efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of ESG reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Partner with the Corporate Affairs Team to evaluate and enhance ESG data management processes and controls, as well as align disclosures with corporate sustainability goals, impact reporting, ESG and Corporate Sustainability regulations, and external communications.
  • Collaborate across Finance, Legal, Operations, and Technology to embed ESG reporting in enterprise processes.
  • Leading ESG Processes and Controls Working Groups
  • Provide training and guidance to business partners on ESG reporting, controls, and compliance expectations.
  • Represent the company in external ESG forums, working groups, and industry associations to stay informed of regulatory developments, ESG best practices, and market trends, and to bring insights back into the company’s reporting and strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Sustainability, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in financial reporting, ESG reporting, or regulatory compliance, with at least 4–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of ESG frameworks and regulatory requirements (CSRD, ISSB, GHG Protocol, TCFD).
  • Proven track record in designing internal controls and leading audit and assurance processes, preferably in financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with ESG reporting platforms and tools (Workiva, Enablon, Watershed, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.

The US national annual pay range for this role is $123,500 to $212,850
