What you’re applying for

In this role, you’ll be building advanced pricing models & tools, partnering with the Data Science and Product teams and bringing actuarial discipline to all facets of Lemonade - from distribution, underwriting, claims, compliance, and finance. You’ll leverage competitive data and data science to optimize our customers’ experience and ensure fairness and accuracy in pricing.

This role will be the actuarial lead in the Tel Aviv office, and have an integral role in developing insurance acumen.

In this role you’ll
  • Be an owner and expert on our insurance rating plans

  • Lead the development and integration of predictive modeling projects, in collaboration with our Data Science and Product teams

  • Bring cutting-edge technologies to rate analysis and implementation

  • Build the world’s most sophisticated pricing models based on AI and ML technologies, bolstered by strong data capabilities

  • Lead in the design and development of internal pricing software for advanced analytics to support real-time decision making and scalable growth

  • Be able to effectively explain the fundamental insurance metrics, related to pricing and reserving financial results

  • Coach and mentor actuaries and actuarial analysts as well as educate technical teams

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of P&C actuarial experience; Fellow of Israel Association of Actuaries

  • 4+ years of experience managing a team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field

  • Strong proficiency in data science programming languages such as R or Python (preferred), and database query tools such as SQL

  • Familiarity with predictive modeling concepts, including supervised and unsupervised machine learning approaches such as GLMs, decision trees, gradient boosting machines, random forests, and clustering

  • Ability to work in an office environment a minimum of 3 days a week
