The Assistant Planner will support the development and implementation of strategic plans to ensure the efficient use of resources and the effective operation of school facilities.

Key responsibilities include:

Support Facility Planning: Assist in developing short and long-range plans for school facilities, including new construction, renovations, and maintenance.

Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze demographic data to forecast student enrollment and determine the need for new or expanded facilities.

Budget Assistance: Help prepare and manage budgets for school construction and maintenance projects.

Report Preparation: Prepare detailed reports and presentations on planning proposals and projects.

Project Coordination: Support the implementation of construction and renovation projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

Here's what you'll need

A Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Public Administration, or a related field.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in urban planning, facilities management, or a related field.

Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in planning and drafting software and tools (ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Photoshop).

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Knowledge of SREF, local, state, and federal regulations related to school facilities.

Ability to facilitate in-person and virtual public participation activities

Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously

AICP credentialed.
