The candidate will perform these tasks:
  • Coordinate with the KLA global tool user community to ensure local tools are available for engineers worldwide during their work shifts.
  • Complete critical tool performance calibration, specification validation, and periodic preventative maintenance.
  • Monitor local and remote tool performance, and assist resolving tool issues.
  • In the event of challenging tool problems, perform detailed investigation into the root cause of the tool failure through a structured problem solving process.
  • During critical activities, evening and weekend on-call support may be needed.
  • Author clear and concise summaries of test results to share lessons learned with the technical community, and drive updates to service procedures on both development versions and released versions of tool products.
  • Collaborate with global KLA engineering community to find solutions to problems on candidate's tools and tools managed by other product engineers.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain metrology and inspection tools to maintain both tool performance and uptime at high levels.
  • Work in an ISO Class 5 clean room.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time. Travel may be higher during initial training.
  • This role requires 5 days a week onsite presence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Physics, Optics, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering
  • Inquisitive investigative skills for finding and solving system-level problems
  • Design of Experiments (DOE) expertise
  • Enthusiasm and curiosity to learn.
  • A solid understanding of precision instruments.
  • Semiconductor Capital Equipment OEM experience preferable
  • Strong interpersonal presentation skills and technical writing skills
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience operating and servicing vacuum systems
  • 5+ years experience working in a clean room
  • Experience with electrical safety, and chemical hazard / safety
Minimum Qualifications
