As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Project Kuiper, you will lead a team directly responsible for building, testing, qualifying and producing next generation spacecraft. You will utilize innovative solutions and cutting-edge technology to solve difficult manufacturing and engineering problems on a daily basis, at both a systems and specialized level. You will be a critical lynchpin between the production, development, tooling, supply chain and quality teams, and lead production on the assembly line as well as new production introduction. You will provide vital manufacturability input to the design engineering teams for both new and existing hardware. Finally, you will be responsible for standing up new processes, equipment, and assembly lines to support Kuiper’s aggressive build ramp, making data-driven decisions at each step in the process.Key job responsibilities- Drive manufacturing processes improvements by reading test results and implementing SPC.
- Interface with facilities personnel in site development and all utility requirements definition.

This role will require a thorough understanding of precision manufacturing processes. You will answer for manufacturing engineers supporting the production environment. This is a leadership role for a highly collaborative individual that combines superb technical and analytical capabilities to optimizing optic assembly procedures for production and meeting cross discipline requirements.About the team

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing/Mechanical/Aerospace/Industrial/Electrical) or Physics or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience Cleanroom operation and techniques.
- 2+ years experience managing engineers
- 5+ years of experience in the production of complex opto-mechanical systems used in industrial, automotive, defense, space or medical applications.
- 4+ years of Engineering Manufacturing manager experience.
