- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in managing broad technical teams (Systems, Hardware, Software, Networking, Integration & Test) across full product life cycles, from concept to production
- Experience with explaining complex concepts and designs to colleagues across disciplines
- Experience in communicating with end users, business teams and management to collect requirements, describe product features and refine technical designs
- Experience managing electronics supplier partners in development and production

- Master of Science or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience managing development programs with DFX (Design to Cost, Test, Manufacturing) mechanisms
- Experience with the process for qualifying hardware and software for reliable operation in space
- Ability to lead interdisciplinary discussions between Hardware, Reliability, and Firmware teams to define and drive scope and clarity of work, and reach optimum system level trade-offs
- Ability to provide thought leadership and key input on new initiatives as well as on programs underway
- Ability to regularly engage with senior stake holders and influence across the organization
- Knowledge of the opto-electronics and telecommunications industry and component suppliers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
