In this role, you willyour design and analysis skills to lead design of rack and infrastructurefrom concept toworking with. You will conceptualize and communicatetypical in early product development. Working in conjunction with our ODM and SI partners, you will design mechanical systems,and assemblies using CAD software and create prototypes for testing and validation
You willcreate mechanical specifications and interface control documentsand drive best practices for mechanical design across our product portfolio whilecompliance with regulatory and safety standards. You will be conducting design reviews, generating engineering documentation and developing test plans and reports including formulating DOEs, analyzing data and drivingdecision making to meet project schedules. As a senior mechanical engineer, you will perform structural statics and dynamics simulations to guide design improvements andadequate design margin againstlikely failuremechanisms. You will collaborate withexternal vendors and suppliers to source components, lead design, ensure robust performance prediction, review manufacturing processes, and ensure adherence to quality standards. You will provide engineering support to NPI teams by troubleshootingand systems issues to enable a seamless integration of designs from development into production. You are expected to stay abreast of the latest trendsmechanical engineering and industry specificationscloud infrastructure and data centertechnologies, andpropose innovative ideas to enhance our hardware
You will also lead mechanical validation efforts for Microsoft mechanical designs including but not limited to server chassis, racks, latches, power supplies, slide rails, and other building block components to ensure proper mechanical operation throughout their intended life in transportation and operationthe mechanical design of Microsoft products, you will need to learn, understand, apply, and continuously improve mechanical design and test specificationsYou willbe responsible forpractices and leadingof comprehensive test protocolsThroughout product development, you willbe requiredto communicate validation test plans, results, and analysis
