We’re seeking Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Geotechnical and Coastal Engineers and Architects to help us deliver technical solutions for our client. As a FEMA Engineer, you’ll manage the Public Assistance grant delivery process (from applicant assignment to exit briefing) for an average amount of eight (8) individual applicants simultaneously. The number of applicants will vary from approximately 1 to 15 depending on the number of projects and complexity of projects that an applicant claims. You’ll ensure program delivery in a timely, professional, customer-centric manner that meets all assigned applicant’s recovery priorities. You’ll review information gathered during the preliminary damage assessment (PDA) for assigned applicants, then conduct exploratory calls to gather information from applicants using assigned templates. You’ll also establish regular meetings with the applicant to facilitate the program delivery and recovery process, and schedule site inspections with the applicants, then coordinate them with the Site Inspector Task Force Leader. Most importantly, you’ll actively participate in regular FEMA meetings by providing updates on work status, evaluate claims and make recommendations to FEMA as to whether the claim is eligible. Bring your technical expertise and passion for FEMA disaster recovery work, and we’ll empower you to restore and improve our communities across the U.S.

For our FEMA client, qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens, able to clear Department of Homeland Security background check for security clearance level of “Public Trust”, and open to working 8-12 hours per day for 5-6 days per week. You’ll potentially deploy to the field in remote disaster conditions, and most of the job responsibilities will be conducted in a FEMA office. Due to the nature of this type of unpredictable work, you must also have the ability to mobilize within 24-48 hours if ever needed to deploy, commit to up to 6 months or longer on a disaster deployment, and be flexible for contingent type of project work.

Please Note: This is an hourly paid position and is non-exempt.
