Job Description:
As a Principal Cybersecurity Controls Analyst you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our cyber defense systems through the evaluation, implementation, and monitoring of security controls. This position will have a strong emphasis on data analysis, reporting, and risk assessment related to security controls and will be on point to identify opportunities and recommend updates to reduce risk.
Key Responsibilities:
Controls Implementation and Monitoring: Implement, manage, and monitor cybersecurity controls in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Regularly review and adjust controls based on system changes or identified vulnerabilities.
Reporting: Develop detailed reports outlining the effectiveness of implemented controls, potential risks, and incidents. Regularly present these reports to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to evaluate the efficacy of existing controls and identify areas for improvement.
Policy Development: Contribute to the development and updating of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and guidelines based on control analysis findings and industry best practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure that security measures are integrated into all areas of the organization
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degrees or industry certifications (such as CISSP, CISA) would be advantageous.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably with a focus on controls analysis and implementation.
Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity principles, control frameworks (like NIST, ISO 27001), and reporting standards.
Exceptional analytical skills, with a proven ability to analyze complex data and generate actionable insights.
Data analysis languages and tools: Required: Python, SQL, Excel.
Data reporting, dashboarding, and visualization tools: Required: Jupyter Notebooks, Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint.
Map requests to available datasets, understand the underlying cybersecurity problem, tailor reporting to target audience
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, controls, and reporting
Experience in one or more of the following areas of the software development life cycle: development, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), testing (regressions, unit, penetration), software source code management
Requires Daily Office Presence (3-5 days a week) at one of the listed locations. No relocation assistance is provided.
