Job Description:

As a Principal Cybersecurity Controls Analyst you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our cyber defense systems through the evaluation, implementation, and monitoring of security controls.  This position will have a strong emphasis on data analysis, reporting, and risk assessment related to security controls and will be on point to identify opportunities and recommend updates to reduce risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Controls Implementation and Monitoring: Implement, manage, and monitor cybersecurity controls in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Regularly review and adjust controls based on system changes or identified vulnerabilities.

  • Reporting: Develop detailed reports outlining the effectiveness of implemented controls, potential risks, and incidents. Regularly present these reports to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to evaluate the efficacy of existing controls and identify areas for improvement.

  • Policy Development: Contribute to the development and updating of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and guidelines based on control analysis findings and industry best practices.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure that security measures are integrated into all areas of the organization

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degrees or industry certifications (such as CISSP, CISA) would be advantageous.

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably with a focus on controls analysis and implementation.

  • Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity principles, control frameworks (like NIST, ISO 27001), and reporting standards.

  • Exceptional analytical skills, with a proven ability to analyze complex data and generate actionable insights.

  • Data analysis languages and tools: Required: Python, SQL, Excel.

  • Data reporting, dashboarding, and visualization tools: Required: Jupyter Notebooks, Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Map requests to available datasets, understand the underlying cybersecurity problem, tailor reporting to target audience

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, controls, and reporting

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas of the software development life cycle: development, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), testing (regressions, unit, penetration), software source code management

  • Requires Daily Office Presence (3-5 days a week) at one of the listed locations. No relocation assistance is provided.
