As a Foundry Failure Analysis Engineer, you may be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Drive yield and product improvements through applied failure analysis.
    Provide technical leadership using electrical and physical fault isolation techniques to identify and solve yield and reliability issues.
  • A large percentage of work is focused on memory and logic.
  • Provide technical leadership in electrical characterization of new devices, including performance and design interactions.
  • Operate a wide variety of failure analysis tools to identify root cause of complex failure modes on leading edge technology.
  • Typically used equipment includes fault isolation tools (obirch, tiva, IR, photo emission), FIB, SEM, delayering equipment, microprobing and nanoprobing characterization. Majority of work is memory and logic based, but wide variety of failure modes supported.
  • Learn and/or develop methodologies to identify complex failure modes on leading edge technology.
    Identify major failure mode in process issue and drive yield improvement on customer products.
  • Identify root cause of top systematic yield issues to process module and solution.

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD Degree in a Science or Engineering field with 5+ years of semiconductor industry experience OR Master's Degree in a Science or Engineering field with 7+ years of semiconductor industry
  • 6+ years' experience in identifying yield optimization opportunities for customer product development or Failure Analysis experience.Preferred Qualifications:
  • Semiconductor failure analysis experience, foundry experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of semiconductor circuits and devices.
    6T SRAM expertise and ability to understand likely failure location based on failure mode.
  • Experience analyzing logic diagnostic results and generating failure analysis strategies.
    Strong ability to interpret and explain TEM images and other common analytical results.
    Understanding of ATE testers, test programs and interpreting test results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a team or environment.
  • Experience performing fault isolation with minimal product design information is helpful.
  • Experience in digital CMOS or analog circuit or test structure design, characterization, test/debug, yield enhancement and/or product engineering is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor processing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
