DESCRIPTION

As a Sr. Construction Scheduler in DCE-CSAS, you are a leader and visionary in your field, working within and leading the work of cross-functional teams that include: technical program management, product management, architect, structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering, supply chain management, construction, operations, safety and security, and legal. You will participate in external forums/consortiums to understand current trends and developments within the industry. You will be responsible for leading the global construction schedule control goal and strategy, constructability of new data center template and product innovation/development, and remediations of existing sites.You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.Key job responsibilities- You understand the key aspects of legacy and modern data center construction systems. Using this experience, you identify improvement areas of value engineering and defining/tracking construction schedule performance metrics in existing and next-generation data center.
- You are responsible for and oversee the creation and improvement of data center basis of design & project specifications to drive standardization in the data center construction schedule performance.- You are responsible for, conduct, and provide oversight for the review of the constructability of next generation data center designs and financial analysis, and schedule/sequence of construction.
- You conduct schedule and critical path analysis on design variations of civil, structural, architectural, electrical and mechanical designs associated with the construction of new data centers or optimization/retrofit of existing data centers.
- You review bid summaries, schedules and milestones, labor pricing, and perform subcontractor evaluations.
- You implement, maintain and execute schedule control, construction sequence, change management, progress and performance reporting.
- You decompose complex construction schedule problems or new technologies or topologies to distill underlying risks and benefits, and identify straightforward and actionable solutions to reduce risk.A day in the lifeAmazon values diverse experiences. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or 8+ years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience in construction scheduling and control.
- 5+ years of experience in data center delivery (design, commissioning and construction) or mission critical facilities or equivalent.
- Experience developing a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) based on the scope of work and construction packages of a large-scale industrial project.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally/domestically with short notice.
