We are looking for an experienced EHS engineer with a solid background in engineering, safety and environmental management, ideally within a logistics or manufacturing site. This individual is expected to be proactive, detail-oriented, and skilled in managing both routine safety tasks and lager EHS initiatives. Strong communication and organizational abilities are essential, along with the capability to coordinate effectively across teams and manage multiple priorities. The candidate should thrive in a dynamic environment where collaboration and adaptability are high valued, also support other facilities team members in managing equipment.
- 5+ years of experience in EHS management, specifically in distribution center, or manufacturing site with bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience with EHS management systems, policy development, and emergency response planning and strong capability in risk assessment and implementation of mitigation plan.
- Professional EHS certification (e.g., Industrial Safety Engineer) is highly preferred.
- Familiar with sustainability initiatives and practices
- Ability to maintain equipment, specifically in automated distribution center is a plus.
- Fluent in English and Korean
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As an EHS engineer, you will play a vital role in Nike’s Logistics EHS initiatives, helping ensure compliance with EHS policies / procedures and fostering a safe and sustainable workplace. You’ll manage critical safety operations, lead training, and maintain regulatory compliance, while working closely with various teams to support Nike’s commitment to safety.
- Oversee and update the Logistics EHS management system, including EHS policies, emergency response planning, and annual safety strategies.
- Coordinate EHS training for all CSC employees, including new hires and job-specific sessions.
- Lead a monthly CSC EHS committee, driving discussions on safety improvements and actions.
- Perform risk assessments, develop mitigation plan, and conduct root cause analyses for incidents.
- Manage safety for contractors and oversee hazardous equipment and materials.
- Conduct and follow up on inspections to meet legal and Nike standards.
- Lead efforts to meet Social & Labor Convergence Program (SLCP) and DC (Distribution Center) Assessment (DECA) expectations.
- Support sustainability initiatives and facilities maintenance tasks as needed.
