Job Summary

Experience as a mixed-methods researcher would serve you well in this role, though we expect things to be quantitatively focused because of the usage data and analytics available from our AI and digital solutions. You should be comfortable accessing and analyzing structured and unstructured data. To be successful in this role, you should have an established track record of leading research plans and delivering results.

This role is ideally located with proximity to our Raleigh, NC office and willing to work in a hybrid environment, but may be flexible based on qualifications and provided that the candidate is open to significant US East Coast working hours.

What you will do

  • Contribute to an interdisciplinary team that includes UX researchers, interaction designers, visual designers, developers, product managers, and other stakeholders through all phases of the development cycle.

  • Design and conduct research activities in a full range of areas: usability testing (formative and summative), interviews, surveys, card sort techniques, persona development, and heuristic evaluations.

  • Track research from insights to implementation.

  • Effectively collaborate with and get buy-in for research from stakeholders across various teams including PMs, Engineering and Design.

  • Help create, maintain, and implement processes and documentation to increase the efficiency and scalability of the team.

  • Follow proper controls and governance for the use of customer and other confidential data.

  • Communicate data-related challenges and help to prioritize resolutions based on alignment with organizational goals.

What you will bring

  • Ability to critically analyze data, test hypotheses, and iteratively try new approaches.

  • Excellent ability to tell the story of an insight, including why it is important and how it will impact the user and the business.

  • Advocate for the user experience and data-driven decisions through every step of the development process and across boundaries.

  • Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods with the ability to define user research methods that are appropriate for a given design problem.

  • Solid grasp of data systems and how they interact with each other.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., human computer interaction, human factors, applied psychology, experimental psychology) with 3+ years of relevant working experience or Masters degree with 1+ year of working experience.

  • Knowledge of customer support- and customer experience-related data and metrics is a plus.

  • Experience in a startup/fast-paced environment or Open Source project contributions is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $83,840.00 - $134,150.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
