Your key responsibilities

  • Supporting the development of global employment related policies, processes and change programs by coordinating and managing requests for employment law advice with local GCO teams across the global network of member firms. This includes tracking and analysing responses, requesting clarifications and ensuring that advice is practical and addresses the questions raised, preparing reports to share with key stakeholders to confirm advice including red flags and executive summaries.
  • Coordinating cross-border employment law support with multiple local GCO teams in respect of global transactions (outsourcing, managed services) where deadlines are often tight, including briefing documents and support with transaction documents (dependant on level of experience this may include proof reading and/or drafting support with supervision).
  • Supporting internal investigations – assisting with the collation/review of documents, taking meeting notes, seeking updates to ensure matters are completed and closed.
  • Conducting legal research on a variety of queries and matters.
  • Supporting the preparation of annual Modern Slavery statements for various global entities with a UK prescence.
  • Providing support to the day to day running of the Global Employment Law Network, including managing contact lists, maintaining its recently refreshed intranet site, collating materials/facilitating information sharing, organising group update emails/calls.
  • Assisting with Global Employment GCO training delivered to a variety of stakeholders including the Global Employment Law Network and Talent; including helping to draft PowerPoint presentations, speaking, managing attendee lists, technical support with delivery and recording.
  • Tracking Global litigation holds.
  • Updating and maintaining the Litigation intranet site.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Law degree or non-law degree followed by GDL plus, ideally, LPC (or BPTC) in the UK (or local equivalent outside the UK).
  • Previous experience as an employment paralegal or working in an employment team.
  • Strong personal communication skills, including oral/written communication skills.
  • Strong organisation, planning and project management skills.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Teams in particular) and the willingness to develop additional skills in order to develop/maintain LPG intranet sites.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A basic understanding of European employment laws, particularly with regard to the laws implementing the Acquired Rights Directive.
  • Some experience of dealing with litigation related matters.
  • High degree of cultural awareness.
  • Experience of working in a global environment.
  • Experience with working with a wide variety of stakeholders.
