- Designand implement automated and manual data collection processes
- Actas specialist in ‘applied metrology’ and provide support to manufacturing anddesign areas in development of appropriate measurement methods, includingresearching and recommending new technologies, analyzing existing measurementmethods, and training as required
- Workclosely with the Metrology Manager on continuously improving the Labs’processes, procedures, datasheets, and measurement techniques
- Providedimensional expertise to support improvement projects (cycle time, efficiency,safety, etc)
- Analyzeand break down dimensional data to identify source of problems (Sub assembly,Tooling, Supplier part, etc)
- Activelymonitor dimensional accuracy of drive unit and battery product thru variousmeasurement systems (CMM, Faro, Check fixture, Romer, Laser Tracker, 3Dscanner, etc)
- Provideday to day production support on quality concerns and develop and implementshort/long term countermeasure to quality problems while maintaining operationefficiency
- Provideexpertise on GD&T best practices and closely work with Quality and Designengineer to make sure that datum scheme and tolerances are accurate for theform, fit and function of the assemblies
- Degreein Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimally3-5 years of experience in quality, metrology, or design engineering
- Excellentunderstanding of GD&T and ability to create datum strategies that minimizetolerance stack-up in critical areas
- Strongmechanical intuition and extensive hands-on experience modifying tooling,fixtures, etc.
- Abilityto read and interpret mechanical drawings and make correction if needed
- Experiencedwith CAD design software (CATIA is a must)
- Experiencedusing measurement tools for root cause diagnostics (stationary and portableCMMs, Faro laser tracker, Leica 3D scanner, Polyworks)
- Strongunderstanding of statistics to identify critical process parameters
- Strongcommunication and team working skills at all levels of an organization
- Abilityto present simple solutions to complex problems and influence key changedirectives to other engineering teams
