Responsibilities:

  • Understand product functionality, market-place trends, and the competitive landscape – lead engagement with product, sales, operations, technology, and other internal stakeholders to identify growth opportunities/product gaps and conceptualize, socialize, and implement a comprehensive corporate trade product strategy.
  • Work closely with Coverage, Sales, Wholesale Credit, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Risk partners to drive profitable, responsible growth while enforcing risk discipline/awareness and product suitability.
  • Lead team towards launch of new to market/region corporate trade products while ensuring regulatory compliance, risk management and operational resilience.
  • Work with Coverage and Sales teams across APAC for deal origination and present innovative ideas for new trade financing opportunities - lead team in partnering with internal stakeholders to craft responses for complex trade and supply chain finance requirements of clients. May sometimes require travel.
  • Oversight of all existing Trade and Supply Chain/Receivable finance product offerings across Asia Pacific including internal governance processes.
  • Own and drive risk and control for the function, ensuring all activities are managed within the appropriate risk, controls, and regulatory parameters of the bank. Partner with Enterprise Control Functions such as Legal, and Compliance towards end-to-end risk compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal technology teams to provide an integrated and automated client experience.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders on global trade initiatives, including driving global trade product processes and global launches of new products.
  • In partnership with Marketing and Regional/Global Trade head, increase visibility of the Bank’s Trade business by supporting execution of internal/external marketing initiatives.
  • Represent the Bank at Trade conferences and on industry working groups as may be required.
  • Manage a team based across various locations - work with team members to foster individual development towards career aspirations while ensuring team goals are met.

Required Skills:

  • 15+ years of banking experience with a minimum of 10 years focused on Trade and Supply Chain Finance.
  • Deep understanding of the core Trade Finance product suite including traditional trade products, supply chain finance, and Trade Services. Knowledge of UCP and local regulations pertaining to trade in key regional markets such as India and China.
  • Exhibit a breadth of understanding of business challenges facing clients, as they relate to Trade & Supply Chain Finance across Asia Pacific. An ability to translate this knowledge into smart business decisions, a robust product strategy and a process that deepens client relationships, increases market and wallet penetration.
  • Proven track record of product and project management skills as well as on executing to growth plans and technology implementations.
  • Experience in leading teams across multiple markets/cultures.
  • Strong grounding in client management and sales, with experience in facing off to large multinational clients.
  • Strong presentation and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong grasp of critical principles of risk management, credit, and compliance.
  • Ability to work cohesively with a broader regional and globally team.
  • Exposure to other banking functions such as treasury services or relationship management.
  • Degree in Business Administration or equivalent qualifications

Desired Skills:

  • Fluent Mandarin Speaker.
