Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As a compliance audit specialist, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with team members from around the globe as you work together to assess and report on the effectiveness of internal compliance programs at 3M and our third-party business partners. Although your work in this role will primarily focus on business relationships throughout South and North America, you will have opportunities to assist our teams in other parts of the globe. You will make an impact through the following duties:

  • Conduct and lead compliance audits of moderate to high-risk third-party business partners.
  • Participate in internal compliance evaluations to gauge the effectiveness of 3M's compliance program throughout the globe.
  • Interview management and other team members of third-party business partners and 3M subsidiaries to identify potential gaps in compliance awareness and key internal controls that ensure compliance with global and local antibribery and anticorruption laws, as well as alignment with 3M's Code of Conduct.
  • Analyze books and records to ensure transparency and identify any questionable or otherwise inappropriate transfers of value to external parties from 3M subsidiaries and/or our third-party business partners.
  • Identify any other compliance risks or indications of corrupt practices through analyses of information obtained through interviews, observations, and the auditees' books and records.

Essential Qualifications

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who have the following basic qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in internal audit, compliance evaluations, or similar experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with business level fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Knowlege of general accounting and finance principals, including the ability to understand/interpret financial statements, ledgers, bank reconciliations, sales reports, inventory reports, and similar information.
  • Be able to hold and maintain a valid passport for international travel.

Additional qualifications that may help you succeed in this role include:

  • Business level fluency in Portuguese
  • CFE, CIA, CRMA, CPA, or equivalent local certification
