Job Summary:

In this role, you will follow the FP&A mission to deliver a wide range of data-driven insights that support everything from operational decision-making to organizational strategy as the business partner for the Drug Delivery Device Operating Unit ( 3 manufacturing plants). The Director, FP&A interacts frequently and collaborates cohesively with the business. This mission includes the traditional FP&A core competencies of planning, forecasting, budgeting, management reporting, capital management, project expenditure requests etc. for each functional area. This role includes both Operating Unit responsibilities as well as other global function support. This is a hybrid role and requires to be on site 3 days a week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Strategic Thought Partner. Establish strong, cross-functional relationships across West Pharmaceuticals Drug Delivery Device Operating Unit and its respective leadership teams to position the FP&A organization as a strategic asset and thought partner in key decision making.
  • Partner closely with the Drug Delivery Device Operating Unit leader and leadership team to develop, evaluate, and advise on the impact of both short-term and long-range planning.
  • Manage a team of approximately 3 FTEs supporting the Drug Delivery Device plants.
  • Drive our teams’ execution of budget, forecast and strategic plan financial models and analysis in connection with monthly, quarterly and annual processes.
  • Evaluate and influence Operating Unit strategic investment through capital project business case models and narratives. PER models (Project Expenditure Request).
  • Align financial planning with the organization's overall objectives, identifying key financial drivers, evaluating financial risks, and providing insights to support decision-making.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. MBA, CPA/CFA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years supporting the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning for a global, publicly traded business.
  • Executive presence/gravitas. Demonstrated ability to present to and engage at the senior most levels of the organization.
  • Experience with SAP Software.
  • Proven experience leading high performing teams.
  • Open to diverse perspectives; has the ability to work collaboratively with different personalities all driven by passion to perform to their highest potential.
  • Proven experience developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that ensure the functions are meeting all business objectives.
  • Experience in a high-growth and changing organization and can assist in M&A, reorganizations, and carve-outs.
  • Demonstrated history of influencing business decisions and providing strategic recommendations based on financial data and market analyses.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to inform and influence at all levels internally and externally.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex financial matters and simplify them into concise recommendations.
  • Experience supporting organizations undergoing technology transformation.
  • Innately curious with a driven, self-starter mentality. Able to thrive in fast-paced environments with competing priorities.
  • Adaptable; change agent. Ability to manage through influence.
  • Strategic leader with a strong grasp of core financial concepts, including enterprise budgeting, forecasting, reporting.
  • Strong background in FP&A, with an analytical view toward precise financial reporting and detailed operating metrics.
  • Ability to track and drive decision making for the management team around the company’s performance, opportunities, and ability to further create value across the entire business.

  • Able to be aware of all relevant standard operating procedures as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
  • Strong track record of success operating in highly regulated environments.
  • Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target.
  • Able to comply with the company’s safety and quality policy at all times.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time.
