Role & Responsibility:

As a Lead Geotechnical engineer, you will assist our client for all Land side related developments and work with their engineers. Leading geotechnical related discussions with the client, contractor and vendors, decision making on various foundation and ground improvement options, provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to the geotechnical team. Having local market knowledge and experience to enhance and grow relationships with a broad range of Jacobs internal and external clients. You will sit with Jacobs dedicated resources and client side engineers at Mumbai Airport.

Responsibilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound experience in various areas of geotechnical investigation, design of shallow and deep foundations, deep excavations, ground improvement methods, slope stability and seepage analysis, assessment of borrow materials, site supervision and design of special foundations. Sound understanding of relevant geotechnical national & international standards.
  • Experience should include, earth retention system, tunnelling, slope risk assessment, seepage analysis, embankment design and associated infrastructure projects.
  • Detailed design experience on Aviation, Port, Rail, Road, and Metro foundations
  • Proven experience of leading and / working in a D & C environment would be advantageous.
  • Sound interpersonal and technical management skills demonstrated ability to lead a group of geotechnical engineers in delivering solutions.
  • A strong knowledge of the local marketplace, in particular industry and major Clients.
  • Proactive in completion of tasks and identifying opportunities to assist the Operations, Client and Service Line Leaders, as well as GID delivery.
  • Mentoring and coordination skills
  • Generation of technical notes, geotechnical interpretative reports, and specifications.
  • Work experience on India & ME projects is essential and experience on UK, Europe or Australia projects is an added advantage.
  • Excellent report writing & communication skills.

Software skills

PLAXIS-2D & 3D, LPILE, GROUP, GEOSLOPE (SLOPE/W & SEEP/W), APILE, SHAFT, OYSYS, FREW, GRL WEAP etc.

Office Location:Terminal 1, Mumbai International airport

Working Hours:5.5 days (Saturday half day)

Here's what you'll need

B. Tech or B.E. in Civil Engineering

  • Have good experience in geotechnical design firm (minimum of 6 years in infrastructure projects and overall, 11to 13 years of experience in geotechnical) Experience working in a team environment.
