• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in designing complex mechatronic systems, integrating mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control software components• Create system architecture based on business and technical requirements, ensuring all stakeholder needs are met through detailed subsystem and component requirements• Drive product development planning and execution, optimizing system performance while maintaining overall functionality• Ensure consistency and traceability throughout the mechatronics development lifecycle, from initial concept to final integration and testing• Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and quality in the development of high-performance automation solutionsAbout the team
The ANR10 test and design team has the key responsibility to assure the definition and implementation of an appropriate development process of mechatronic systems. This includes stakeholder's requirements elicitation, definition of the system requirement and system architecture, leading the mechatronic system design and assuring the compliance of the system functionalities with customer requirements by designing and performing design validation and system verification tests.
• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering• Extensive experience in design and development of industrial automation systems, with specific expertise in packaging, labeling, and sorting machinery• Demonstrated excellence in technical troubleshooting and innovative problem-solving for complex mechatronic systems• Proven leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and guide multidisciplinary engineering teams• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and make sound decisions with limited information• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and their application in hardware development environments• Fluency in English for effective global communication; proficiency in Flemish/Dutch is advantageous for local operations
• Strong project management expertise, with demonstrated ability to plan, execute, monitor, and report on complex technical projects in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environment• Proven track record in risk management and conflict resolution, with focus on continuous improvement through effective implementation of lessons learned• Proficient in engineering tools including 3D CAD, requirements management systems, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and electrical design software such as EPLAN
