Family Description
Our Business Group is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).
We're seeking an experienced technical expert on SoC software architecture in 6G chipsets. You will be working with chipset software architecture and specialized processing engines for Layer 1 processing, including DSPs and ASIPs (Application Specific Instruction set Processor). Your architect role will include coordination with a broad group of stakeholders from several development units, development and alignment of APIs, and writing technical specifications of SW architectures. Also, you’ll prepare proposals for decision-making in architecture decision teams. You’ll contribute to SoC and SoC software strategy and work with long-term technology development projects as part of your work.This includes planning the transition to 6G and preparing SoC platforms for 6G technologies.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Solid skills, and recent experience in embedded C/C++ programming
- Hands on software development skills on low level hw/sw configurations
- You have 10+ years of background in developing ASIC/FPGA hardware, software, or wireless/telecom systems algorithms
- You have proven track record in defining architecture and specifications for FPGA/ASIC/SoC or signal processing systems
- DSP algorithm development experience, and good understanding of programmable processing architectures
- Good understanding of programmable processing architectures, such as RISC and DSP processors.
- Solid skills in embedded C/C++ programming.
- Experience and technical knowledge on how to design SW for reuse, maintainability, and testability, including refactoring to improve those aspects in legacy SW
- Good understanding of ASIC development.
- Experience in leading agile development.
- Experience as a technical leader in (a sub-domain of) product development.
- Experience working with external suppliers, including technical support for making agreements and contracts.
- Fluent verbal communication and writing skills in English language.
- MSc or PhD in engineering, computer science or equivalent.
The following additional skills or experience are valued:
- Experience with simulation platforms, e.g., Matlab or System C.
- Solid skills in embedded real-time software and scripting (Ruby, Python, or similar).
- Experience with Linux and real-time operating systems.
