This position will require you to work onsite at our San Jose Cisco office.

As a Safety Engineer, you will ensure that our industry-leading networking products meet the highest safety standards.

Your Impact
  • Innovate and design for safety, conducting rigorous product testing to 60950-1 and 62368-1 for regulatory certification.
  • Dive into PCB design layout, stack-up reviews, and schematic and product construction reviews.
  • Develop comprehensive safety compliance program plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Lead internal investigations of safety compliance issues and propose effective mitigation plans.
  • Participate in audits to ensure alignment with safety standards and accreditations.
  • Keep the team informed with status updates and test schedules during project meetings.
  • Communicate and resolve issues with the product development team.
  • File compliance reports with regulatory agencies (UL/CSA) and meticulously document compliance activities.
  • Stay ahead of industry changes and trends, assessing their impact on product shipments.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 4+ years of related experience or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 2+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements (Safety, IEC62368-1, and CSA/UL62368-1).
  • Experience with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience reviewing PCB design/layout/stack-up.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience creating safety test plans and test reports.
  • Good understanding of networking products.
  • Proficiency in Python, SCPI, and other automated data collection techniques.
  • Experience working in a lab environment/electrical testing.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience mentoring peers and/or engineering interns.
