About the Role

The Regulated Entities and Compliance Group (REC) is a global function and critical enabler to ensure streamlined management of regulatory compliance in Payments across all applicable geographies.

Uber Taiwan, a star market for Uber, offers payment services to Uber and fulfils two main roles in the payment process;

  1. Safeguards the funds drivers, deliverers and restaurants earn on Uber platforms in Taiwan; and
  2. Disburses the funds to drivers, deliverers and restaurants earning on Uber platforms in Taiwan.

Your Impact

  • Motivate and manage the day to day operations of the Uber Payments Taiwan Operations (1st Line) team, set planning and vision, build trust and coordinate execution against agreed targets.
  • Operationalise and enhance various processes within Uber Payments Taiwan to support the business in achieving objectives while ensuring overall compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the overall operationalisation of the GRC framework for Taiwan and ensure alignment with regulatory obligations.
  • Program manage and ensure timely approvals of the following initiatives and processes with relevant documentation to the Compliance Committee (and when applicable, Executive Management and Supervisory Board); strategy for UPT, coordination of planning intake for UPT, new products and features, third party vendor risk management, business continuity and operational resilience, service delivery, compliance operations and incident management processes with the 2nd Line (Compliance and Risk) for Uber Payments Taiwan.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to address any open/ongoing case enquiries/ escalations/ investigations in relation to payments and compliance operations.
  • Partner with product, data science and engineering teams to identify and solve any payments and compliance operations issues.
  • Inform and influence payment initiatives and communicate key metrics to various functions and stakeholders (i.e. General Managers, Regional General Managers, Global Payments, Risk and Identity Strategy & Planning) through sustainable relationships for awareness and reporting purposes with the GM of Uber’s Mobility and Delivery businesses in Taiwan.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience within banking, payments entity, e-commerce and/or consulting in compliance and/or risk preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess business needs, identify solutions and strong analytical skills to model customer adoption and usage, assess financial and business impact on the strategic initiatives through a risk lens.
  • Strong team oriented and collaborative, with exceptional consensus building and team management skills to continuously develop and grow direct reports.
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively at multiple levels and across disciplines.
  • Strong critical thinking, organisational and analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage multiple initiatives and requests simultaneously in a fast-paced environment whilst working with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Based in Taiwan with flexibility to travel when required across geographies.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communications skills in English and Mandarin with the ability to translate, articulate and present highly technical and complex procedural recommendations, regulations, laws and policies to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong change management skills, adept at working in an environment of shifting priorities, constant technological changes and increasingly stringent regulatory requirements.
