Capital One Senior Business Manager - Technology Risk Management

In this CoE role, you will drive our Emerging Risk Incubator and partner with accountable executives and product owners to evolve their offerings with transformational changes. You will help translate business requirements into product language and liaise with Enterprise product teams to deliver both prototypes and product upgrades. You will perform ROI analyses and examine impact to Capital One’s risk oversight value stream to enable prioritization. You will coordinate messaging, socialize enhancements, and run roadshows to maximize alignment and awareness with very senior stakeholders in our Technology, Cyber and Product risk organizations. In partnership with the office of the Chief of Staff, you will help deliver on TRM strategic goals and Key Results as directed by the Chief Technology Risk Officer (CTRO). Fun stuff!!

General Responsibilities:

  • Strategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation

  • Product: Develop and implement new product and optimization strategies for various technology risk oversight, aggregation and analytics products; lead product level modeling/analytics

  • Execution: Coordinate across the lines of business to manage and sequence delivery of strategic intent, build business requirements and execute against the product strategy. Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently

  • Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership qualities which will include coaching and mentoring associates throughout the organization to develop and retain talent at Capital One

  • Strong business judgment, partnership and integrity: Candidate should be a tenacious decision maker, able to exhibit sound judgment in consideration of different viewpoints. While partnering with other associates and teams, should foster innovation, drive critical decisions, hold business partners accountable, and be able to consistently deliver results

  • Strong executive communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills. Can effectively pitch a product or concept.

  • Clear results orientation: Display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals, should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain, gray space and fluid environment. Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment.

  • Previous consulting or tech product management experience is a plus

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)

  • At least 2 years of experience in quantitative analysis

  • At least 2 years of experience in qualitative analysis

  • At least 1 year of experience in people management

  • At least 1 year of experience in project management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis

  • 5+ years of experience in qualitative analysis

  • 2+ years of experience in people management

  • 2+ years of experience in product development

  • 2+ years of experience in strategic consulting

  • 2+ years of experience in project management

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
