As Financial Reporting Group Manager, you will be responsible for providing IFRS technical review support to audit teams on general purpose financial statements across the EY East Cluster.
The role will also involve managing internal projects relating to technical matters which may include developing training material and coaching of audit teams. You will also be expected to present trainings to staff, managers and partners across the business.
The role may also involve taking on client serving responsibilities.
Within the IFRS desk, you will be required to build valued relationships with the executives (partners down to managers) of audit teams and also with your internal peers.
Your Key Responsibilities
Technical role responsibilities
IFRS technical reviews both year end and interim general purpose financial statements
Review of IFRS related technical consultations.
Facilitating both internal and external IFRS and Sustainability capacity building initiatives (e.g. trainings)
Presentation of IFRS papers in various forums.
Participation in IFRS and ISQM practical implementation.
Guiding teams and clients on complex IFRS areas and accounting matters.
Advising non-audit clients on significant accounting policies, judgements, assumptions and estimates
Assist with the development of technical material including:
Training material for in person and virtual based training;
Enablers, forms and template, guidance, and communications; and
Policy updates.
Enhance EY’s brand positioning through strong external relationships across a network of external relationships through involvement on Institute of Certified Public Accountant committees as appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of upper second-class honours or its equivalent
A minimum overall grade of a B in KCSE and B in both English & Mathematics
Qualified Accountant (CPA/ACCA)
Thorough knowledge of current auditing techniques
Knowledge and understanding of ISAs
Experience of audit process
Expert knowledge of IFRS
strategies
Compliance with regulatory requirements
6 – 8 years post professional qualification experience in an audit environment
It is an added advantage to have been in a part time or full time IFRS Desk role in an audit firm.
