The Executive, Indirect Sourcing will lead a global team of approximately 70 people managing $4.5B in Indirect spend and 4,000+ suppliers. The team is responsible for category management including category strategy development, strategic sourcing, supplier management, contracting, sustainability, and demand management. The categories in scope are all Indirect categories including Professional Services, Marketing, Logistics, Packaging, MRO, Capital & Construction, Facilities Management, Utilities, Travel & Expense, Meetings, Fleet, and HR Services (excludes IT). This individual will report directly to the Chief Procurement Officer and sit on the Sourcing & Supplier, Quality, and Development Leadership Team.

Executive – Indirect Sourcing

The Executive, Indirect Sourcing will lead a global team of approximately 70 people managing $4.5B in Indirect spend and 4,000+ suppliers. The team is responsible for category management including category strategy development, strategic sourcing, supplier management, contracting, sustainability, and demand management. The categories in scope are all Indirect categories including Professional Services, Marketing, Logistics, Packaging, MRO, Capital & Construction, Facilities Management, Utilities, Travel & Expense, Meetings, Fleet, and HR Services (excludes IT). This individual will report directly to the Chief Procurement Officer and sit on the Sourcing & Supplier, Quality, and Development Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Building the vision and execution of the strategy for the Indirect Sourcing organization that will include the go to market sourcing roadmap, risk management plan, savings delivery, sustainability plan, supplier management program, tail management, and customer satisfaction metrics
  • Owning category management strategy and execution across all Indirect categories excluding IT. Creating sourcing strategies that will drive a competitive advantage for GE HealthCare for the Indirect categories of spend (excludes IT) and delivering 5-7% of savings.
  • Overseeing a team of Business Engagement Leaders who are assigned to GE HealthCare’s core businesses to understand the business need, monitor spend, identify savings opportunities, ensure that sourcing strategies are driving value, and assist with demand management.
  • Building strong relationships with senior business partners by helping them deliver goals and objectives, including delivering material improvements on quality, price, and service.
  • Leading a demand management program that brings visibility of the indirect spend to business partners
  • Owning the company policies that are related to Indirect Sourcing
  • Leveraging the new process that will be rolled out for managing tail spend and back-office support
  • Driving the Lean strategy and execution of continuous improvement across Indirect Sourcing
  • Leading a large team of strategic category leaders, including managing talent development and performance management
  • Overseeing Supplier Management for Indirect Sourcing including the supplier segmentation and program execution
  • Owning the operational metrics/dashboards for Indirect Sourcing
  • Keeping up with industry trends that may influence Indirect Sourcing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Finance
  • Minimum 15 years Sourcing (Procurement), Supplier Management, or operations experience
  • Deep category and domain knowledge in the Indirect categories
  • Extensive people leadership experience including leading large teams with broad priorities
  • Experience managing global supplier relationships
  • Proven experience with establishing and executing a strategy/vision and strong influencing across functions
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate at an executive level internally and with the supply base
  • This position is to be based in the US, in the eastern or central time zone
  • Required travel up to 15%
