You will be a part of highly creative and efficient BIM team tasked with tackling the most fascinating and challenging problems in designing, constructing, and operating Amazon owned Data Center facilities.You will be responsible for overseeing data center project BIM delivery from design kick off to hand over to operations teams, you will work with BIM stakeholders to drive project standards and BIM standards, innovate and implement innovations and enable the model to serve the entire project team in a meaningful way.Key job responsibilities
You must be able to work independently and work within a team environment to accomplish assigned tasks. This includes working with internal teams as well as external suppliers, consultants, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors. Your duties will include:
- BIM Oversight of all aspects of the Data Center life cycle starting with design, construction, and maintenance of Data Center BIM models.
- Work to establish and maintain a common data environment, along with processes, procedures, and security around the AWS design team’s information exchanges.
- Ensure Information Models meet AWS standards and are following the Exchange Information Requirements (EIR).
- Establish information structure and standards for the information model, coordinate output formats, and validate data quality.
- Work with consultants, vendors, suppliers, construction teams to coordinate and maintain BIM models throughout the build process
- Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations, from design through construction.
- Review consultant BIM documentation, BIM files, coordinate output formats, and validate data quality, collect design documents and files for projects.
- Assist with establishing and maintaining BIM standards, processes, and workflows.
- Educate and train internal teams in BIM software, procedure, and best practices.You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. A day in the life
On a normal day you will review project Revit and Navisworks models assessing model development, modeling standards and practices and adherence to the BIM standards and compile your comments on same. You will then meet with the BIM design or construction project team to review your comments and discuss any BIM relevant items on the project. You will also work with our internal Design Services BIM team to communicate project improvements and to innovate. You may also meet with the wider BIM Client Information Manager team to discuss process improvement, document standards, innovations and project challenges.About the team
You will work with our internal BIM Design Services Team and external consultants to innovate and drive standards during the design stage of projects, leveraging all aspects of the Model capability to delivery efficient coordinated designs to IFC stage. Oversight will continue in construction stage where you will work with construction managers, general contractors, the design team and procurement teams to deliver high quality data rich as built models at hand over stage. During operational phase you will collaborate with operations and field engineering teams to align on standards, requirements and process alignment.
