Our Technology Strategy and operations team is growing rapidly as we continue to co-create the technology-enabled business models of the future with our clients. Our work is delivered in collaboration with EY’s practices for Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure and Service Resiliency. This model enables our Technology Strategy and operations professionals to be highly relevant and “sticky” when serving clients. Our teams have the opportunity to work towards:
Identifying a purposeful “Why” for Technology transformations and establishing an engaging platform for change;
Developing capability and IT operating models that introduce differentiated performance and innovative ways of delivering technology;
Developing and implementing IT industry leading practice and market relevant policies, standards and procedures;
Analyzing IT standards and governance processes, collecting meaningful fact-based data and design improvement recommendations for target operating models;
Supporting the M&A lifecycle to accelerate integration, the path to synergies and drive confidence in the transition; and
Challenging IT sourcing strategies and moving from cost plays to a foundation for innovation, scalability and flexibility.
Your key responsibilities
As a Senior Manager in Technology Strategy and operations you will focus on driving clarity in the technology direction and priorities of our clients. You will apply your analytical and problem solving skills to identify and sell practical transformation efforts, develop your team, create thought leadership, position our point of view in the market and continuously improve our methods to manage the firm’s risk and deliver value to our clients.
Skills and attributes for success
Ability to develop cohesive, compelling strategic visions of how technology transforms the business models of our clients and coach leaders in positioning the vision while engaging stakeholders at all levels to support the proposed direction.
Knowledge of Technology operating model design approaches, core capabilities associated with a Technology operating model and advantages / disadvantages of differing operating models.
Ability to analyze existing Technology operating models, design new operating models, recommend improvements, define advantages / disadvantages and design transformation programs.
Knowledge of and ability to systematically manage the organizations technology investments, projects, services, and activities in line with business objectives and priorities.
Knowledge of Technology Financial Management and the ability to develop a framework to evaluate potential costs and benefits, make key decisions about technology investments, internal allocation, and utilization of technology resources and/or assets and any changes to technology processes or services offered.
Knowledge of Technology organization theory, models, roles, and structures along with the associated advantages and challenges. Ability to analyze existing workforce / organization and define a new organization that is more aligned to the goals and objectives of the client.
Ability to Collaborate closely with EY technology and business consulting practices to drive broad transformation programs at clients
Ability to Identify advisory market trends, needs at clients, pursuit strategies and work with pursuit teams in business development
Ability to contribute domain expertise to the development of thought leadership.
To qualify for the role you must have
A Bachelor's degree and seven - ten years of related work experience
Seven or more years of experience in at least two categories listed under the technology and business domains:
Technology: IT Service Management (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration), IT Asset Management, Software selection, solution architecture, application development, IT operations, packaged software management (ERP, CRM, WMS, GRC, financial consolidation, etc.) cloud solutions, data management and analytics or infrastructure
Business: Corporate strategy, competitive intelligence, M&A, corporate finance, supply chain, marketing, operations, HR, or internal control
Management consulting experience with a focus on client service
Strong skills in written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing coupled with a keen interest in further developing and integrating enterprise business processes with technology.
Willingness to travel to meet client obligations
Ideally, you’ll also have
A degree with emphasis in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Science, Process Engineering, Finance or Accounting; A master’s degree in one of these areas is preferred
Certifications are highly desirable. Examples include LEAN IT, Six Sigma, TOGAF, ITIL, PMP/PRINCE2, SAFE Agilist, etc.
